ROACH’S HAT TRICK ,RESTED NETHERLANDS IN PEACE March 1, 2011

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Pool (B) Match 13:

West Indies Vs Netherlands:

Delhi 28/02/2011:

West Indies after having taught a good lesson by Proteas in their foremost outing staring to grab Netherland side to get not only a prevail but also some increment in their Net Run Rate, Netherlands won the toss & unexpectedly chosen to field first on a wicket that have a little support for the seamers at the start but will definitely behave like the odd Indian tracks that have enough support for a batsman to score good quick runs. Smith & Gayle provided West indies a century First-Wicket Partnership that has boosted their confidence ,after Smith’s departure for a very notable 53 Bravo joins Gayle & added a good 30 to the scoreboard before he was caught out ,Gayle played a brilliant innings of 83 ,while Ramnaresh Sarwan & pollard also materialize the poor bowling attack of Netherland & dispatched the bowlers to all corners of the field , a total of 9 sixes was hit by the West Indian giants in which Pollards’ 4 blows tops the list. Setting up a target of 330 runs in 50 overs, West Indies sounds pleased that they will clinch this game easily; Seelar was the pick of the bowlers with 3/47 in his 10 overs. Netherlands Started their innings in a dramatic manner & wickets started to wobble around time after time, at one stage they were 56/6 in 19 overs. Cooper tried his level best to stabilize the collapsing foundation by scoring a sound fifty & he was well supported by Mudassar bukhari with 24, Roach managed 6 wickets & finished the innings by picking up a HAT-TRICK, the first of the world cup & he becomes the fifth bowler who has achieved this milestone in a World cup Match. For his outstanding bowling Roach has been acknowledged with the Man of the Match award.
